The Wests Tigers have reportedly granted star five-eighth Jarome Luai permission to depart the club at the conclusion of the current season, despite having a year remaining on his contract. Luai, who is the Tigers‘ highest-earning player with an estimated $1.2 million per season, had previously signed a deal to join the incoming PNG Chiefs in their inaugural 2028 season. The decision to allow an early exit was reportedly discussed with Luai a week prior to the public announcement. Following the news, Luai posted a cryptic message on Instagram stating, “Gods plan not mine.”
Tigers’ Performance and Luai’s Impact
The Tigers‘ season, which initially showed promise, has seen a significant downturn.
